Medical Insurance

Healthy Start/Husky Insurance 

· Assistance in Applying for FREE medical insurance for pregnant women, infants and  children.

· Community referrals and assistance with identifying a medical home.

· Case management available to provide monthly phone contacts and aid in additional services.

· Free childbirth education classes offered by on staff certified instructors.

 

Home Visitation

Nurturing Families Network 

·  Home visitation program designed to ease the transition to parenthood.

·   Monthly family activities and playgroups.

 

Nurturing Connections (Charlotte Hungerford Hospital & Sharon Hospital)  

· A hospital based program that provides parenting education, support, and referrals to community resources to new parents at time of delivery.

·  Regular phone contact/mailings up to six months after delivery. 

·  Bi-weekly play groups available to participants.

 

WIC (Women’s Infants and Children) 

· Supplemental food program that offers nutritious foods, education for pregnant or breastfeeding women, and infants and children up to age 5.

· Lactation Consultant available for breastfeeding education and individual or group support.

 

The Father Involvement Program

(English & Spanish) 

· A thirteen week program class designed to provide fathers with experiences that will lead to a more rewarding relationship with their children. 

· Child development education, employment assistance, job readiness skills, case management, and referrals available for any interested father or father figure.

 

Parenting  Groups

 

Parenting Classes 

· Healthy Relationships/Couples Group- Eight week group that aims to promote an understanding of what it takes to build healthy, mature relationships.

· Three weeks for parents or parents to be, which covers basic parenting, stress management, discipline, ages and stages and co-parenting.

 

Nurturing Prenatal Group

·  Nine week program to educate and assist pregnant women.

· Child birth education available by a Certified Childbirth Educator.
